Indraprastha Cancer Society and Research Centre, a non-profit organisation founded in 1996, built Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre in Delhi, a freestanding cancer care centre. Its founders were a group of socially concerned individuals who had no financial resources but worked hard and were able to raise funds for the hospital’s operation through sheer resolve.
The hospital’s aims were to provide high-quality care as well as convenient and economical access to expert medical care for cancer patients. The Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre is now regarded as one of the best cancer treatment centres in Asia.
It provides patients from India and nearby countries with the unique benefits of cutting-edge technology and recognised super specialists to assure world-class cancer treatment. RGCIRC has impacted the lives of over 2.75 lakh patients since its start in 1996. The RGCIRC teams provide organ-specific multidisciplinary cancer care, combining with other Super Specialists within the Institute to establish a second opinion clinic for more critical situations. The Institute is NABH and NABL recognised, and it has Green OT and Nursing Excellence certifications.
